Eros and thanatos --

would you Cry if you saw me there

rehearsing my Lines? Would

you be able

to make Sense of our Love? During

these dry Years

we remember each other’s bodies

as they formed themselves

in the darkness

hands entwined in a terror-filled Submission we

avert disclosure

with a kiss our Eyes surrendering

to each other in this battle

for our Lives’ inclusion in a passion Spent

on subtle Warfare

and recrimination; the

beauty

of an ill-formed prayer issuing from your lips

turns

lust into Survival here on this Shore – Mute

knights

battling-back Ogres of dark

and heartfelt

ironies We subsume our victory in a glance

the parted legs and muscled hair

made implicit

in this Our bed – When we

are lovers

again we will seek

our Sudden reward washing over us

with the care

of a Spirit fulfilled --
